American Pit Bull Terrier is a dog breed known for their loyalty. American Pit Bull Terrier are dogs of medium size, have short hair and also a solid built. It is also believed that the early ancestors of American Pit Bull Terrier came from England and Ireland.

The muscle structure is a well defined one and also smooth. Its eyes are round like the shape of the almond and the ears are small to medium in length and can be natural or cropped. The tail of this breed is thick and dwindles to a point. They have a coat which is glossy, smooth, short, and slightly stiff and can be any color except merle. The height of the American Pit Bull Terrier Breed ranges from about 14 to 24 in (36 to 61 cm) at shoulders, and the weight ranges between 30 and 60 lb (14 and 27 kg).

These dogs are generally very loyal to friends and family, and also are generally friendly towards strangers. They have a general love for people and are very congenial pet. As true for the other dog breeds, American Pit Bull Terrier also needs to be trained and socialized at an early age. These dogs generally have a lot of energy and benefit from exercise. The average life expectancy of an American Pit Bull Terrier is about twelve to fourteen years making them one of the longer living large breeds.
